We have all dealt with disappointment at one time or another. I am currently dealing with a little disappointment about an opportunity that did not work out. I have a tendency to get angry, mopey and sad. I will be distant to those close to me, quit eating healthy, and turn into a loner. But today I am taking a stand. I am not going to follow those same patterns of behavior. They are not healthy or beneficial. Here is what I am doing instead. Upping my meditation game I am meditating twice a day now, instead of once. During this time I am looking towards the future and reminding myself that...

I will often have friends and family ask me about stress management that doesn't require time. "What can I take to reduce my stress?", "What oils can I use to eliminate my anxiety?" "What supplement do you use to relieve stress?" Although I am a strong believer in using essential oils and even supplements on occasion, the truth is, none of these alone can reduce your overall stress. What can? 10 minutes a day. The most effective way, I have found to reduce my stress, is through meditation and prayer. I find benefits from just 10 minutes a day. Instead of thinking of these 10 minutes as one...

I haven't done a fitness post in a while. To be honest, most of my summer fintess has consisted of outdoor adventures with the dog. I do not follow a specific fitness plan during the summer because I know that I will get outside and be active every chance I get! Todd and I at The Preserve doing some waterfall hiking! Over the last few weeks, that has changed. Why? I AM TRAINING FOR A 5K! String up the banners, give me a cookie, all the above. I am extremely proud of myself. In my opinion, it does not matter how big or small your healthy living goals are. It only matters that you set them and...

I am so proud to have Jennifer from Stellar Fashion and Fitness guest posting today. A few months back I met Jennifer at a See Jane Write event. I was a fan of her blog and very excited to connect with her. Over the past few months I have grown to admire her for many reasons, including her acute eye for fashion, her love for fitness and her ability to write from the heart. She has become a dear friend to me over these last few months and I am so grateful for it! Let me share a bit of her mission statement with you. "I believe that finding peace with your own body — and by that I mean the full...

For those of you who work out with me at I nspire Fitness or see me interval training at Railroad Park , you may be wondering why I'm not working out as hard as I usually do? I'm barely working up a sweat most days! You may be thinking it looks easy and I'm just leisurely enjoying myself. WRONG! I'm going crazy to start lifting some weights again and push myself hard at Spinning® class! I love the rush of really pushing myself and working up a good sweat. So why have I slowed things down? I'm excited to tell you about it. Drumroll, please....I am training myself to strengthen my aerobic base...
