This time of year pinterest is loaded with ways to winterize your house, winterize your wardrobe, or winterize your car. These are all important and great ways to prepare for winter, but have you ever thought of winterizing your pantry? Today I want to share with you a few items I keep in my pantry to be prepared for winter.

winterize your pantry

1. Chicken Broth

Chicken broth is rich in amino acids and minerals that will speed the recovery of any cold or flu. It is also very filling, warm, and delicious. I love using it to make my Immune Boosting Chicken Soup. Chicken broth is an absolute must have for you winter pantry.

2. Turmeric and Pepper

Turmeric is a powerful anti-inflammatory and improves brain functions, along with numerous other benefits. I don't know about you, but my brain sure does get cloudy on those cold winter mornings and I would love something to help my brain functions. I use it in my recipe for Golden Milk. The pepper allows your body to properly absorb the turmeric.

3. Apple Cider Vinegar (with the mother)

Aids in fighting infections due to its acidic nature, eases sore throats, and countless other benefits. Drinking a little apple cider vinegar every day can also improve the softness of your skin. Fighting sore throats and easing dry skin! A winter must!

4. Coconut Oil

Coconut oil has antibacterial properties. It helps protect the body against viruses and bacteria. I put it in my coffee regularly with my Coconut Vegan Latte recipe.

5. Canned Meats, Beans, and Veggies

I like to keep canned meats, beans, and veggies just in case of a snow storm, ice storm or any type of power outage. This way I am able to have quality foods, even if there is a storm. I usually keep dophin safe, wild tuna, wild salmon, black beans, black eye peas, navy beans, artichokes, spinach, green beans, tomatoes, tomato sauce, and chicken. I try to find these all organic or all natural when possible. Stay stocked up for winter weather!

These are just a few of the items that can help you winterize your pantry. What items to you stock for the winter months? Share your ideas with me in the comments section.
