Welcome to my new series Thirsty Thursdays! Every month I will be sharing a simple adult beverage with you that can be made with ingredients you have at home. I'm not going to lie to you and say that alcohol is healthy for you. I believe and strive to practice moderation in every area of my life. My grandmother once told me, "Life is about balance. Everything in moderation." It is absolutely possible to enjoy a social drink occasionally and still live a healthy lifestyle!

Now, for today's recipe I will be sharing with you 5 ways to dress up champagne using fresh ingredients!

Using these subtle fresh ingredients will add that little something to your champagne and will have your guests thoroughly impressed! (If you make these ahead of time and allow them to sit in the fridge for at least 2 hours the flavors will be enhanced drastically! It is worth the wait).

1.  Red Ruby

  • 3 slices Ruby Red Grapefruit (one for garnish)
  • 4 oz Pink Champagne

Choose a pretty glass and squeeze 2 of the grapefruit slices into it to make a small amount of juice. Then add the 4 oz of champagne to make a sparkly, fresh drink.

2. Raspberry Rush

  • Small Handful of Raspberries
  • 4 oz Pink Champagne

Place the Raspberries into a fancy, cute glass and add the champagne. (This drink will get better the longer it sits. I use frozen raspberries because as they melt the flavor infuses while still keeping the drink chilled).

3. Orange You Glad You Drank This

  • 3 Slices of Navel Orange
  • 4 oz Pink Champagne

Squeeze the Navel Orange juice from two slices into your beautifully classy glass. Top it off with the 4 oz of champagne and you will definitely be glad that you did.

4. Mint To Be

  • 6 Fresh Mint Leaves
  • 4 oz Pink Champagne

This is by far the most subtle of the 5 drinks. Simply take the mint leaves and place them in the bottom of your lovely lady glass and pour the pink champagne on top. The most delightful part of this drink is the aroma of the mint that will hit your senses as you sip on this fresh drink. I can't wait until I have this growing fresh in a few months and can use my own mint!

5. Berry, Berry Strawberry!

  • 1 Medium Strawberry
  • 4 oz Pink Champagne

Slice up your strawberry into very small pieces. Top if off with your champagne. This drink will get better if left to sit for about 3-5 minutes before drinking. The strawberry aroma and flavor will become absolutely delightful!

Thank you all for stopping in for my first Thirsty Thursday! Now, who wants to come over and help me drink these 5 drinks......?
