On March 20, 2014 I wrote my first healthy recipe post. In an attempt to heal my migraines and anxiety, I had started reading & learning all I could about nourishing foods. I watched a documentary on juicing, bought a juicer, and juiced regularly for about a year. I noticed some health benefits, but I wanted more. I began to look into the “clean eating” trend and decided to do an 80/20 diet starting in 2014. And my blog was born from this journey. As I continued to learn alternative healthy ingredients to substitute in recipes, I found that I loved taking photos of my recipes too. As I...

You eat healthy. You love telling others about eating healthy. Creating recipes that are both tasty and nutritious is important to you. But, sometimes when you go to snap a picture on your iPhone you are frustrated at how it turns out. I know this feeling all too well. The first few years of my photography journey were this exactly. I would make the most nutrient-rich food that tasted fantastic, and when I would go to share it with the world, I felt completely let down that my photos didn't convey the true awesomeness of the recipe. So today, I'm going to tell you 3 things I wish someone had...

Thank you to Marie Forleo for recommending this fantastic video and helping me figure out my own ”big why”. My goal today is to help you determine your "big why" on your Instagram account. What is the motivation behind sharing the content that you share? Who are you trying to speak to? Please don't just skip down to the questions. This video is key to understanding how to properly answer them. ”People don’t buy what you do, they buy why you do it.” Let’s change this for our purposes. ”People don’t follow what you share, they follow why you share it.” Yes beautiful content matters. There is no...

Lime and coconut martini

This whimsy cocktail is the perfect way to welcome Spring. The sweet & sour flavors of lime & coconut will have you in the mood for warmer weather instantly! Even when indulging, it's important to me to use as many natural ingredients as possible. I turned to my trusty La Croix sparkling water , Stirrings simple syrup , & fresh lime juice. Beets are one of my favorite foods to use when I need to add a pink tint to any food or drink. It only takes a tiny amount of cooked beet to add the color which makes the flavor virtually undetectable. I snagged some violets growing wild in the...

This recipe is inspired by the lovely colors of Spring. My allergies may not be happy, but this superfood latte is sure to soothe them. Beets are full of things our bodies need like: Iron Magnesium Folic Acid Calcium They are thought to be anti-inflammatory, cleanse the colon, and create an overall sense of well-being. I personally love the flavor of beets, especially when combined with sweet coconut milk. I hope you enjoy this recipe! Green smoothies are my jam! I first fell in love with them when participating in an Emilie Maynor Smoothie Challenge and it changed my morning routine forever. After the challenge, I found myself craving those cool, crisp green drinks every morning. My body loved starting the day with nutrient-rich food! So, I stuck with it and started creating my own recipes based on Emilie's example. Emilie also introduced me to Vital Proteins Beef Collagen . It's totally flavorless and adds a beautiful texture to my smoothies. Collagen benefits include: Glowing skin** A more youthful appearance** Joint...

Today I am so honored to introduce you to Elisabeth Chramer, the owner of Bloom Custom Robes . I first met Elisabeth at an Instagram meetup hosted by the lovely Madison of Keeping Creativity . As we were all taking photos and getting tips from Madison, Elisabeth began to share some of her story as a business owner. Her experience was so unique to me.
