I have been making cashew milk at home for years because of the healthy fats and the natural calming properties. So, you can imagine my delight when I discovered that Silk had started carrying their own Cashew Milk! I'm sure it will be nice to purchase pre-made non GMO cashew milk on those occasions that I do not have time to make it myself. I usually try to avoid store bought sweetened, condensed milk because of al the additives and processing. So I thought why not make a sweetened, condensed milk with the Cashew Milk I have on hand? It turned out quite delicious! I can't wait to make a...

Thank you for stopping by Spiffy Eats. Today I am sharing a recipe with you that is not only rich in complex flavor, but really simple to make. Make it clean eating by putting it over a side of brown rice or paleo by putting it over a fried egg. Both options are easy and tasty. First, I would like to share a bit of my friend Amber's story. You have heard from Amber before in her post, "Free the Chicks" , where she wrote about the reasons for choosing pastured eggs and chickens. Amber is a school teacher who holds a Master of Education (M.Ed.) and a BS in Early Childhood Education and...

Although I am posting about delicious food today, this is NOT a recipe post. I wanted to take the holiday and truly relax, and not write down measurments or times. All day, I cooked like my Grandmama Furniss, a pinch of this, a dab of that, taste it, and keep going! I used clean ingedients and whole foods and we had an amazing time! Tony and I started our morning with some delicious hot chocolate and bailey's, a gift from my sister Sarah. We cozied up with our warm winter mugs and toasted our 3rd Christmas together. Once we had our bellies full of warm, yummy goodness it was time to attempt a...

This is one of my favorite parts of any Christmas movie ever! "He brought everything back, all the food for the feast, and he... He himself, the Grinch... carved the roast beast." How the Grinch Stole Christmas. Such a heart-warming scene! Also a scene that makes me hungry. Just the words "roast beast" bring to mind images of deliously cooked meats. I can just imagine huge cuts of beef roast, a whole duck, oxtail, pork loin. So, today I thought I'd share my Pinterest Picks for your Christmas feast! If you are wondering where to buy good, quality meats (and you are local to the Birmingham area...

Today I have a delightful recipe to share with you! It is perfect to whip up when you have a party to attend this Holiday season. This recipe is adapted from Anne Byrn Saves the Day , a cookbook with fantastic recipes designed to "rescue any occasion". I had the privilege of going to a live demo of this recipe and have been wanting to try it out ever since. The original recipe calls for cream cheese. I chose to use whole fat greek yogurt, as most store bought cream cheeses do not have a very clean ingredient list. (Sidenote> I have learned that you can substitue healthy whole fat greek...

"I believe that finding peace with your own body — and by that I mean the full...
