Hi all! Welcome back to Monday Munchies where I share with you a simple recipe that you can make using ingredients you most likely already have on hand. As I stepped outside this afternoon it hit me: I need a frozen drink, and I need it now! This Alabama heat takes a toll on a gal. Then I thought, why not chocolate? Cocoa is mood boosting and delicious. So here is what I did. Yum! I had this entire thing drank before I ever sat down to start sharing the recipe with you! So delicious. Take 8 oz of whole grass-fed milk and add it to your blender. Then add 1 1/2 tablespoons of organic dark cocoa...

Hi, Friends! Welcome back to Monday Munchies where I share a simple recipe with you that uses basic ingredients found in your kitchen. On Saturday I went to Pepper Place Market and found these gems! I love tomatoes! What better to highlight each flavor than make a tangy cucumber salad? I grabbed a cucumber, lemon, and 2 types of basil from my garden (one of which is a spicy greek basil. Yum). Then I roughly chopped everhthing, added 1 1/2 tablespoons of Extra Virgin Olive Oil and squeezed the juice from one lemon on top. Have fun eating this tangy Cucumber Salad!

Hello! I wanted to share with you a simple DIY I did today in about a half hour. I had some Cardinal Climbers that I needed to go in the ground and needed a trellis. So why not use a few things I had on hand to make one! I had two pieces of wood that I knew I would use one day. So I grabbed them along with 4 wire hangers, a can of spray paint, and a staple gun. Then I lined them up and stapled the hangers to the wood. Stapling them this way will make the trellis the most symetrical. Then I grabbed my good friend spray paint and put a quick coat on the wood. Then I dug a couple inches and put...

Thank you for joining me for Monday Munchies where I share with you an easy recipe you can make using ingredients you most likely already have in your kitchen. Today I will be sharing with you a simple way to dry fruit using just your oven. The flavor reminds me of fruit roll-ups! So, I guess this is a clean eating alternative! Enjoy. First preheat your oven to 200 degrees F. Then slice your fruit to the thickness you prefer. Remember it will shrink up when you bake it, so go a little thicker than I did here. This first time was a learning experience for me. Then take a teaspoon of Coconut...

Thank you for joining me for Wednesday Workouts where every Wednesday I share with you a simple way that I chose to stay active. Today I returned to my favorite spot, Crestwood Park for some interval training. What is interval training? Interval Training is a sinch! It is defined by Mayo Clinic as "simply alternating bursts of intense activity with intervals of lighter activity." Go hard, go light, go hard, go light. I chose to follow the advice of an awesome running coach Danny Harrelson of Run University and do 4 minutes of jogging followed by 1 minute of walking for 1 mile. And with this...

You've heard of the typical "bar hop" where you go from bar to bar meeting people, tasting different drinks, and getting to know a new city. But, have you heard of a "coffee shop hop"? This Saturday morning my boyfriend, Tony and I decided to go try a cup of coffee at three different coffee shops. I went to places I'd never been and had a blast seeing new parts of Birmingham. Church Street Coffee and Books Located at 81 Church St, Mountain Brook, AL 35213, Church Street Coffee and Books is one of the most adorable places I've seen in Birmingham. Spring is in the air! As the weather gets warmer, I still crave a warm cup of coffee in the morning. Right now we're brewing a local grind from Red Bike Coffee . It is devine! I recently became interested (maybe obsessed because of all the amazing health benefeits) with using pure, unrefined, organic coconut oil in everything! I found that it adds a very creamy flavor to my coffee without the use of any dairy products. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy locally vat processed, organic milk pretty often (Thank you Working Cow of Alabama ), but a dairy free option is always a nice change of pace. I...

Summer is a fun, active time of year for me. There are days when I want to spend as much time as possible outdoors jogging, cycling, or going to the river with my friends. It can be very easy to make less than healthy choices on days like this. Opting for a quick drive thru or munching on snack food from the convenience store. I have found that making simple salads in the evening opens up the next day for more healthy and CLEAN EATING options. This recipe is a base. I use these staple veggies and add all kinds of variations throughout the Summer. I hope this helps you make good choices for...
