As you know, we've been playing around with some recipes that fall in a line with a whole food plant based lifestyle. Have you seen the documentary "Forks over knives"? Yeah, it's that type of eating. And we are really enjoying it. It's balanced, filling, and non restrictive. Definitely a lifestyle (which is good, because I'm not about that diet culture life). So, since the holidays are here, I figured I'd test out a recipe inspired by my super talented friend Amber of Eat Your F@#*ing Vegetables . Amber shares such creative recipes and this recipe is no different. The icing recipe was...

When I was a little girl I would visit my grandmother in Rena Lara, Mississippi. She was always in the kitchen, cookin' this, bakin' that. And bless your heart if you ask her for a recipe. Try as she may, she doesn't know how much of this or that she added. Her cooking style was all about intuition and I've realized that's totally where I got it from! Today, I got in the kitchen and did my best to recreate her southern cornbread dressing, but with a twist- I made it vegan! I know, I know. That's a carnal sin in the South. But, I always feel better when I eat less meat heavy meals, and I love...

This cold, rainy weather has me all in the mood for baking bread! The recipe was inspired by this recipe from My Sequened Life with several alterations to make it vegan and a to simplify the process a little a bit. If you're wondering about the beautiful edible gold on top, it's KLG Gold Cardamom Fruitas aka edible gold breath freshner (that also work great in baking!). For a detailed tutorial on braiding your bread check out this ! Ok, here's how I made it!

Any of my other blogger friends out there taking the November challenge? What methods do you use to stay consistent?

The Pepper Place Farmers Market is one of my most favorite things! One of the first things I discovered when moving to Birmingham five years ago was our amazing farmers market. I fell in love instantly with the vibe- connecting with the farmers who had worked hard to grow the food I would serve at my dinner table- it’s a powerful experience. One thing that didn’t come instantly to me however was how in the world to take those beautiful photographs of my farmers market haul. You know the ones I’m talking about. A Beautiful spread of apples next to perfectly ripe autumn squash All brought...

*/ I’m hardly the only food photography teacher out there, but I do believe I’m unique- because of who I serve. During my first year in business I realized exactly who I wanted to teach. I shifted all my energy to guiding wellness coaches & advocates. By focusing specifically on their needs, I’ve been able to create safe spaces for them to grow. By guiding them in intuitive food photography, I’ve seen them go from feeling confused & frustrated with their photos to creating stunning, gorgeous shots that reflect the light & love they want to put out into the world. I’ve GOT to tell you guys about my favorite new app- MyFLO. It’s so much more than a period tracker. This app was created by Alissa Vitta, the author of Woman Code . Woman Code breaks down the biological effect that food has on our endocrine system. The theory of the woman code way is that you eat certain foods that contain certain nutrients based on where you’re at in your cycle. For instance, during your menstrual phase it’s recommended that you add beets to your diet. Beets contain high amounts of iron to replenish the body during your period. It also recommends certain types of exercise...

I’m so excited to share this giveaway with you guys! I’ve collaborated with All Cotton and Linen to give one lucky person two items from the shop! Did you know the average household uses around 1,500 plastic grocery bags per year? Per year!!! If you’re anything like me you try to do things in a more environmentally friendly way, but sometimes the day to day can feel overwhelming. From plastic bags, to produce bags, to plastic wrap around flowers- a grocery store trip can feel like an absolute environmental disaster! I've found one great way to be more environmentally conscience at the store...

You're gonna love these! Pancakes should be: fluffy, fluffy, FLUFFY! simple to make and of course, DELICIOUS! And, these plant based pancakes are all that and more! Bob's Red Mill flours are the go-to choice in our house. Using traditional quartz stone mills, they make sure all their products contain the highest nutritional quality possible. I also avoided refined oils in this recipe and was so pleasantly surpised to see that we got the perfect amount of browing without having any oil on the griddle. So, if you're looking for a light, yet filling breakfast for the whole fam (or if you just...
