Thank you for stopping by for Monday Munchies, where I share with you a simple recipe using ingredients that you most likely already have in your kitchen! I hope to invite you into my journey of learning to eat clean and show you that it is possible to make small changes in your life, one recipe at a time!

Today I am sharing with you a recipe that I have been wanting to make since I was a child.

This was such a fun and simple recipe!

1. Start by choosing an organic heavy whipping cream. I choose Working Cow of Alabama due to their Low Temperature Pasteurization process.

"You see there are all kinds of healthy bacteria living in milk. When the milk is excessively pasteurized, it kills the bacteria off. The hotter you go the more bacteria that is killed. By only heating to the minimum required temperature, we are preserving as much of the bacteria as possible. Bacteria that our bodies need to stay healthy."

I purchase mine from V Richards in Birmingham.

2. Grab your hand mixer and start to beat the cream.

You will beat the cream for around 15-20 minutes. It will start to separate and the liquid will slosh all around! It's a blast. If you have kids, I would encourage you to let them hop in and mix with you! Teaching children where food comes from is a valuable lesson.

3. Beat as much of the cream out as possible. You want to have a nice rich butter when you're done.

4. Grab a strainer and place a large bowl underneath. Then begin to punch and mash down the butter releasing the buttermilk. (Save the buttermilk and use it within 3-4 days).

5. Enjoy your butter for 4-5 days!

I feel very accomplished that I finally made my own butter! I feel amazing serving this to my family because I know exactly where it came from and what is in it! Happy munching!

Incredible recipe & very interesting knowledge about butter and milk that I was not aware of. I cannot wait to try this with my kids.... Does it taste the same as butter I would regularly purchase from the store?

I'm so glad that you like the recipe! It tastes a lot better than store bought, in my opinion. It is very rich and creamy. Let me know how it goes!

Thank you so much for all the healthy recipes! Incredible!! Can't wait to share with friends.

You're welcome! Thank you for stopping by!
