My favorite app- MyFLO
I’ve GOT to tell you guys about my favorite new app- MyFLO. It’s so much more than a period tracker.
This app was created by Alissa Vitta, the author of Woman Code. Woman Code breaks down the biological effect that food has on our endocrine system. The theory of the woman code way is that you eat certain foods that contain certain nutrients based on where you’re at in your cycle. For instance, during your menstrual phase it’s recommended that you add beets to your diet. Beets contain high amounts of iron to replenish the body during your period.
It also recommends certain types of exercise based on where you’re at in your cycle. For instance, during your ovulation phase you have lots of energy to burn. So the app recommends high impact activities like Soul Cycle or high intensity interval training.
Doing the recommended eating & activities is said to help balance your hormones. It’s all really interesting information and since I started using the app I’ve added way more healthy veggies to my daily diet and tried to exercises that I’ve really enjoyed.
