Chocolate cherry smoothie


Every year at Christmas my Dad asks for a box of cherry cordials. These would definitely be considered more of an old-fashioned candy these days, but that taste is so synonymous with the holidays for me. So, I decided to recreate thos flavors into my morning smoothie. (Not as a substitute for the candy, I'll be eating that too) and every sip takes me back to precious memories with loved ones, gathered around a Christmas tree all lit up with sparkling lights. 

Ingredients

1
frozen banana
1⁄2 c
frozen cherries
1 c
milk of choice (more or less depending on your flavor preference)
1 ds
almond extract
2 T
Cocoa Powder
1
handful fresh spinach (optional, but great if you're looking to add in some extra veggies with your smoothie)

Instructions

Blend all ingredients together in a high powered blender until smooth. Add your milk slowly to get the exact consistency you prefer.
