Savory Watermelon Slices

Happy 4th of July, everyone! Today I want to share with you a simple recipe to celebrate the holiday. I was inspired by a segment on Fresh Air, by chef Kathy Gunst. She advised trying out the lovely sweet flavors of watermelon combined with more savory ingredients.



8 sli
Juice from half a lime
1⁄4 t
Sea Salt
1 pn
Cracked Black Pepper
1 bn
Fresh Mint Leaves (I chose a mix of peppermint and spearmint, but any mint will do!)


1. Take your watermelon slices and organize them into whatever shape you like. I chose a pie shape! 

2. Squeeze the juice from half a lime over the slices. 

3. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. 

4. Top with mint leaves.

5. Enjoy!
