The ancient Romans are thought to have brought mulled wine to Europe in the 2nd Century. They believed by drinking warm wine brewed with certain spices they would ward off disease and keep themselves healthy throughout the colder months. I am not certain how or if mulled wine would improve my health, but I know it improves my mood! This recipe is simple and the perfect drink to warm up your home and put you in a state of relaxation and joy. The smell alone is enough to boost your mood- oranges, cinnamon, cider and wine will fill your senses with holiday cheer.

We opted to avoid any added sugars and allow the natural sugars of the wine and cider to shine! I hope you enjoy this cozy recipe.

Ingredients

1
Bottle Pinot Noir
4 c
Apple Cider (we chose one from our grocer that was just apples with no added sugars)
3 sli
Orange
3 sli
Honey Crisp Apple
2
Cinnamon Sticks
1⁄2 t
Allspice

Instructions

Add all ingredients to your slow cooker and cook on low for 6 hours. Enjoy warm or chill and serve later!
