This Thanksgiving I have a heavier heart than usual. We recently lost a precious person in my family that I love dearly. This will be our first Thanksgiving without her. I am so excited to see my family and prepare an amazing meal for us all to enjoy together, but my heart misses my sweet aunt. I have decided to take an extra step in my gratefulness journey with a 7-day yoga challenge on gratefulness from Sarah Beth Yoga . By participating in this challenge, I hope to lighten my heart a little and remind myself of all the amazing things in my life. My aunt was one of the most joyful people I...

One of the suggestions I recently received on my post about stress reducing methods was incorporating more hot tea into my life. I love teas, but sometimes I do not make the time to sit and relax with a warm cup at the end of the day. I have started adding this routine back into my life and I can tell a difference in my level of calm. My current go to tea is Yogi Honey Lavender Stress Relief. The flavors, aromas, and ingredients are so calming. I hope you'll give it a try soon!

Terrified of the confrontations from relatives regarding politics this year? People on all sides are dealing with high levels of stress from this election year. We thought we would give you some interesting food topics to keep the political stressers at bay. 1. The History Grandma's Favorite Recipe Does your grandmother have a recipe she makes each year for the holidays? This year is a great time to ask her all about this tradition. When was the first time she remembers making it? Did her mother make it too? Have the ingredients changed over the years? 2. Pecan. How is it pronounced? This is...

We all know this time of year is a stressful time. I recently shared a post asking my readers for ideas on Stress Relief. I got some awesome suggestions. One of them was getting back into my meditation practice. I always seem to forget how truly helpful daily meditation is. The last three days I have done the same guided meditation. Usually I do a new one each day, but this one is soooo good I plan to do it several more days in a row. I wanted to share it so that any of you who may need some peace as the Holidays begin will have this at your fingertips. I highly recommend it!

I don't know about you, but when I first started learning how to make gravy I was both terrified and intrigued. How do I get this mess of glue I keep preparing to become the smooth, delicious magic that my grandmothers prepared for me as a kid? I have finally got it down (most of the time ha), so I wanted to share some of my favorite graphics that helped me. Look over these and after some practice you will be riding on the gravy train too. See! You can do it. Read more here. More easy directions . I'm telling you, you got this! But if all esle fails.... use this Simply Organic packet . I've...

When you think of creme brulee I'm sure thoughts of fancy restaurants and candlelit dinners flash through your head. We all enjoy an expensive night out with friends and family, but there is no reason to not have those same flavors at home on a Tuesday! This recipe uses only three ingredients! It is quick to make and tastes delightful.

Christmas is without a doubt my favorite time of year. The crisp air brings hopes of snow, cozy fires, and quality time spent with the ones you love. In my adult years I have grown to love a big Christmas brunch. I enjoy preparing eggs, bacon, biscuits, fresh fruit and of course no brunch is complete without a delightful cocktail! My go to Summer cocktail is a mimosa so for Christmas I decided to do a mimosa with a twist. The combination of cranberry and rosemary always puts me in the mood for holiday cheer. This year as you snuggle up close to those you love, open gifts, and sing carols I...

One of my favorite markets in town is Pepperplace Market. I love running into friends and neighbors each time I visit. On one of my recent visits I was entranced by the amazingness of Hepzibah Farms . The flowers and the sampler basket I purchased were enough to last all throughout the week. I highly recommend you stop by and see these guys!
